I love how you mention that these rituals and traditions shift with the times and current needs of the culture. I don't believe I've heard anyone else mention that as something that can still happen. I've always heard it discussed as something that took place in the past but no longer is allowed with this idea that the only way to truly honor those traditions is to keep them in the same way they were kept in the past.
