Talismans 💦 Ancient Practices with Modern Applications

+ Equinox Ceremony + The Healer’s Lake
1

Dear Ones of the Council,

I’m sharing a story today of a recent trip to Tolay Lake. This now seasonal lake was once the site of great healing for the indigenous people of Sonoma County and beyond. I’ve read the story many times and I can’t help but think about how the philosophy applies to healing to this day. And how intentional creativity teaches something similar about how energy can move with our intentions onto the canvas or the page. But where does it go from there? That is the question! What do you think? I explore this topic with deep respect for where I live. Learning about the stories and cultures of the original stewards is part of our work as a community, to repair. There’s always so much to learn, so much to heal.

I can’t help but wonder how could we transfer the sickness that has happened here in the United States? How can a hurt that big ever be healed? It’s a question worth asking and I’m so grateful that many of us continue to ask. Have you seen our good relations pledge?

I also want to remind you about our upcoming Cura Council ceremony on September 21 with very special guests, see what Kathleen has been organizing for our Water Ceremony.

All events are here https://musea.org

I’ll see you in the next ⭕️ circle!

Message from Kathleen Brigidina, Co-Host of THE CURA COUNCIL CEREMONY September 21, 10 AM -11:30 PST

Special Guest Speaker : Clare Dubois and Special Musical Guest:  Asa Larsson

Immerse your creative self in the essence of MUSEA’s CURA Council, a 500 Year Vision for the Quantum Commons, with our Equinox Water Ceremony on September 21st.

Together, we will acknowledge our gratitude and our grief as we celebrate our life-giving waters. We will unite in the spirit of community, celebrating our interwovenness to Earth, her timeless cycles and natural rhythms that unite us across the planet, regardless of our physical location.

These ceremonial days are gifts from the universe, giving us permission to pause to re-harmonize, restore, and gain clarity, so we may make loving choices based in reciprocity co-creatively with Nature. During the Equinox, we invite you to pause and co-set our intentions with us.

Our Equinox Water Ceremony will carry wisdom, ritual, music, poetry, storytelling, movement, and inspiration. Together we will reflect on ancient Nature traditions while weaving a creative quest of our own seeking to renew our deepest connection with the spirit of Nature.

At some of our ceremonies we will be joined by a special guest speaker and a special musical guest. For our Equinox Water Ceremony this September we will be joined by the Earth loving & inspiring Clare Dubois, founder of “TreeSisters” and the magical mystical singer songwriter musician Asa Larsson.

To register, just subscribe here in substack and we will send you a reminder and access. For those open to contributing to make these ceremonies available, we appreciate your investment.

The Cura Council is supported by contributions from our participants.

I also wanted to share this image with you, with gratitude that these kinds of messages are beginning to appear - slow as it may be.

About the Talismanic “charmstones” “Mostly two to three inches long, the stones varied in shape from oblong to round and squat. Natives believed they carried mystical power, allowing doctors to extract illness from the sick and injured, after which the stones were drowned in the lake to fully eradicate the illness. Some of the charmstones found in the lake were later determined to be more than 4,000 years old, originating from as far away as Mexico and Washington state

Part of our repair work at MUSEA Center with Native Americans is inspired by now our Ancestor, Carmen Baraka.
